ROUND 8 – WOOLFOX

Only 10 made the challenge at Woolfox this month.  The day stayed mostly dry for the round with exception of the last 2 groups.  They were met with a ferocious downpour as they completed the 18th, as the 1st group of lads, Jonesy, Chris Searle & me were dry and supping our first pint in the clubhouse! Luck was on our side for once.  The course was in good condition, but management do need to sort out the hole indexes, right Jonsey!

On to the good stuff-

Nearest the pin and nearest the pin in 2 went to Stu Wren, well done mate.

Runner up on the day went to Paul Jones with 38 points.

Winner on the day went to Andy wren with an impressive 39 points. Well done mate and about time.

Captains prize goes to Mr Graham Alchin.

Graham went to navigate his cart to the second green (a newly mapped hole, a par 3).  After his Tee shot, he attempted driving his cart down a newly added path which divided a lake.  Steve Tatham, Graham’s passenger advised him that carts were not allowed on the path as Graham continued and met the barriers.

In haste, Grahm threw the cart in reverse and began the journey back to where he started, grazing the sleeper logs that kept him from ending up in the lake several times.  When he made it back to the tee box, he threw a left-hand turn whilst still in reverse, backed into a bin and sent it into oblivion.  Sadly, the bin was full of rubbish and the contents, (which I can’t repeat Graham’s description of), was sent all over the ground around him.

Round 9 is the Landlords Trophy at Pavenham 16th September. Hope to see you all there.

Your Captain.
