Sunday saw the inaugural EGS v Comrades match held at Brampton Golf Club. In an early blow to EGS hopes, team vice-Captain, Gally had to pull out on the morning of the match with a bad back which, despite preventative Jaeger bombs the night before, meant he couldn’t take part. Fortunately super-sub, Stuart Wren was on hand to take his place.
Sadly the match didn’t go our way with a final score of 5.5 to 1.5 to the Comrades. Our points coming with a win from Steve Foster and Rob Syer and a half from Jack Edwards and Jared Sharp.
Despite this setback it was a very enjoyable day played in good spirit and we look forward to getting our revenge next year!
