Well we all arrived at Corby with the sun shining for a change looking forward to the long awaited return of the Self Proclaimed Legend that is Paul Sharp, after quite a few wayward tee shots from the early groups on the first tee (they were all obviously nervous playing with such a legend watching on) we were all finally strolling the fairways with the usual banter and the odd moan from our regular “sick note “, by the way Graham how’s the eye?
As per usual for our outings this year so far there were a few really good scores on the day and we also played some of the 2nd Round Knockout games.
Winners on the day
Captains Prize – went to yours truly for taking the Pro at his word and having the Nearest the pin in 2 on the Par 3 15th , after much complaining and piss taking from my fellow EGS members I was award this distinction , but I would like to say that for all their moaning and ridicule can I just remind the majority especially the three I played with (You Know who you are ) that not many of you managed to Par this hole never mind get nearest the pin in 2 ( By the way I got a par ).
Longest Drive – Doesn’t seem much pointing in typing this! Stu Wren.
Nearest The Pin – On the 8th with a great shot was Andy McGarry
Nearest the Pin in 2 – One of the few who managed to par this hole “The Legend “Paul Sharp.
Second Place – With a great score of 40Pts Andy McGarry
First Place – with a another great score of 44Pts on his return from a few years of injury ( glad I’m off on holiday for a few weeks so won’t have to listen to his boasting ) Paul “ The Legend “( in his own mind ) Sharp.
Well done to all the winners on the day and I hope to see you all at our next EGS Day at Ramsey on the 23rd June.
A few 2nd round matches will need to be played there so please try to be available for this.
