This months Captains report comes following a great day at Pavenham in what turned out to be a lovely day despite a horrible weather forecast.
It appears my midas touch with the weather has returned following a temporary blip at Elton Furze. I’ve already started saying my prayers for the Landlords trophy at the end of the month.
Less of my ramblings, lets get down to the results. The scores generally were really good on a course with greens that were definitely the most difficult we have played on all year. If you weren’t bellow the hole you were in trouble.
First award for the day was for nearest the pin in 2 on a green that was almost impossible to keep your ball on was claimed by Zane(in off the cush) Sheldrake. Much to the disgust of Andy Mcgary who was convinced his ball would be the only one to stay on. Great second shot Zane.
Longest drive went to Babs (half way for ladies) Willis. Nice shot Babs.
Nearest the pin was taken by Tony (what with these knees) Gentile. Well done Tony.
Runner up on the day after countback on 37 points was Nick Pedlar. Great back nine Nick.
Winner with a terrific 38 points was an in form European champ John(up the Welsh) Miles, sorry Mills. Sorry John but the handicap secretary is going to catch up with you this time. Good stuff John.

I awarded this months Captains prize to Zane after golf that on all accounts went from the sublime to the ridiculous and he was witnessed taking more than four shots to pass the ladies tee on more than one occasion. Zane your a class act.
Thanks to all of you who attended & I hope to see you all at the Landlords trophy on the 29th
