Hi boys & girls,
This months captains report comes from a wild & windy Ramsey although after a fine piece of organisation from your captain the rain held off until most of us had finished.
I think everyone enjoyed the challenge what with the wind & Ramsey’s notorious tough rough & the scores were generally pretty consistent well done to you all.
First award for the day was for nearest the pin at the 2nd, a very difficult shot into a very strong wind. Winner which from all accounts was very close went to Dave(squidy)Squires, well done Squid.
Longest drive is well worth a mention this month as it was not won by Stuart( praise the Lord). This time the prize goes to Zane(Boom boom) Sheldrake with a monster at the 10th,nice work Zane.
Nearest the pin in 2 on the 18th was claimed by Richard Middleton with a fine approach at this short dogleg, shot Richard.
Second prize on the day went to count back with several players on 34 points. On the day I announced second place went to Dave Sqiures but after the event having been put right by our handicap secretary on the normal countback method it transpired that second place actually went to Stuart Wren for a superior last six holes. Sorry to disappoint you Squidy but you were done.Well done Stuey.
After a fine 36 points on a difficult course in difficult conditions 1st place went to Steve(van man)Vandanzig, well played Steve.
Captains prize was claimed very early in the day by Steve Foster who after turning up on the first tee seemingly still drunk from Fri night in the Exhibition proceeded to duff hook two balls straight into the back garden of the vicarage. Not a good way for an athlete to prepare Steve.
