This months Captains report comes from one of our favorite venues Aldwickbury park in Harpenden.
Those of us that have been before always look forward to this one & those visiting for the first time I’m sure will agree it offers a very picturesque fair round of golf. i hope you all enjoyed it.Thanks to Graham we managed to get the day right this year!
Getting down to the buisness of the day there was some decent golf played considering the unpredictable nature of the greens.
The honours are as follows.
In the absence of my son Stuart the rest of us had a shout at longest & this time the spoils went to Paul (Boom Boom) Jones, nice one Paul.
Nearest the pin on a very long & difficult 7th with the only shot that stayed on the green goes to Ricky(lock & load) Bleasedale, shot Rick.
Nearest the pin in 2 to a very difficult pin position on the 18th was claimed by Nick(just slipped inside yer) Pedlar, well played Nick.
The main prize for the day was contested between Stuart Hyem & Paul Jones with Stuart coming out on top 36pts to 35pts. What made it worse for Paul is he came second & still got knocked out of the individual knockout as Stuart was his opponent. Better luck next time Paul & well played Stuart. The full results are below.
As far as the most prestigious award goes (Captains prize) there could only be one winner. After some photographic evidence from Graham I had to award it to John Mills. After a particularly poor tee shot John found himself short of the ladies tee & after being reminded of the rules regarding playing his next shot with his trousers down he decided to take his medicine & drop his strides. After taking all full swing & a majestic follow through unfortunately the said photo clearly showed that the ball had not moved an inch, well done John it’s nice to see that class will always shine through.
Thanks to all of you who attended and look forward to seeing you all at the next game at Corby 19th March.
May the force be with you,
