Results from Brampton – 27th July 2013

We had a great day at Brampton, the thunderstorms feared held off & the rounds were completed in the dry.
The course was its usual stern test, the greens on the day could have been better, they were deceptively slow .
The winner was my playing partner Andy Wren, with an excellent 39 points off 13; he hardly missed anything all day.
Runner up was guest Steve Alsford, who crept up with another 39 points.
Third place was Nick Gabb with a creditable 35 points.
Nearest the pin was Nigel Pauley, its good to see you recovering well.
Nearest the pin in 2 was Nick Gabb ( I should have had you!)
The longest drive was Graham Allchin who hit a veritable monster.
Captains special prize  had a few contenders.
I can’t resist the temptation to record that Graham Allchin hit an airshot– but sorry that doesn’t win.
New member Tony Butler was a contender with this ” furthest from the pin” dribble on the 7th, but eventually, the prize was charitably awarded to Steve Tatham, it was deemed the sleeve of balls would be a token replenishment of the 20 or so he estimated to have lost on the day.
Congratulations to you all.

Our August event will be at Rutland Water on 17th August 2013
We are hoping that the current heatwave continues, so we don’t need jumpers, bobble hats & scarves-  for the uninitiated- this is one of the coldest places on earth!!
We will be meeting at the course at 09:45 for coffee & bacon rolls, ready for a 10:30 first tee off.
Cost including the usual prizes is £28
Please let me know if you wish to attend.
Best regards
Steve Foster
