Results from Elton Furze – 27th April 2013

A good day was had by all at Elton Furze, although the weather was very mixed in the morning, we enjoyed a rain free, albeit windy round in the afternoon.

The course was a real pleasure, lots of interesting holes, and in good condition throughout.

Congratulations to winner Stuart Wren, who won the main event with 35 points, beating runner-up Ricky Bleasdale on countback- Rick had every reason to be confident, having score 20 on the back 9, but Stuart edged it with 23!Stuart also won longest drive & nearest the pin in 2.
Kev Ashton prevented a clean sweep by winning nearest the pin.
This brings us to the “Captains bottom prize”; there were two contenders this month, firstly myself, who after starting the day badly by forgetting his golf shoes, spent most of the round inspecting the picturesque woodlands that are such a feature of this course.
However there could only be one winner; Zane Sheldrake, who this time after failing to draw gasps from his playing partners with his now famous disappearing tee shots, amazed them by actually disappeared himself to the bar after 12 holes.
Having won 3 on the trot, it was decided that he could keep the trophy for posterity. Thanks Zane for taking it all in good humour.
