CHARITY MARATHON ROWING DAY – ON REAL WATER (14th MAY 2011)
Since 2005, The Exhibition Golf society in conjunction with the regulars of The Exhibition have raised a staggering amount of over £45,000.00 for MacMillan Cancer Support.
This could not have been done without our generous sponsors and the help from the Patrons of Exhibition Inn, members of the Golf Society and volunteers.
Last year we forged a partnership with the Huntingdon Boat Club to organise a Charity Rowing Day – which incidentally was a roaring success raising over £2,000.
The Boat Club has again kindly offered their facilities to run the event this year and we have fixed the date for 14th May and yes, you guessed it the event will take place on real water, a real river (the really wet kind).
The Charity marathon Rowing Day will run at 6am until 6pm with the bar open all day.
This adventurous event is hosted by the Huntingdon Boat Club (they will provide the Boat, Cox, life jackets, hair dryer and a kitchen roll to use. The rowing will be in pairs and rowers will row to the Huntingdon Bridge (or to the lock) and return. This will be rowing stints of 20-30 minutes. We hope to have enough members volunteering so that it gives us poor unfit enthusiasts a bit of a rest in between.
If you and your friends would like to take part (for insurance purposes) would you please complete the names and contact details (next of kin optional) with preferred time slots in the form below and email it back to me on firstname.lastname@example.org (07717 758819).
I will then email you more details and a sponsorship form or you can download one in PDF by clicking here.
